Cool Farm Annual Event 2025: From Allies to Action at Belmont Estate

Jul-28-2025

The Cool Farm Annual Event 2025 brought together an extraordinary group of leaders shaping the future of food and farming. Held at the stunning Belmont Estate in Bristol, the three-day gathering combined immersive farm tours, candid panel discussions, and practical working sessions – creating a space where farmers, NGOs, corporates, and innovators could tackle some of the toughest questions in regenerative agriculture.

Our CEO, Peter Moss joined the panel titled ‘From Allies to Action’, alongside Thomas Gent (Agreena), Alex Amanya (Solidaridad), Brechtje de Schipper (Bel Group), and Emily Durrant Munro (Cool Farm Alliance). Together, they explored what it really takes to make collaboration deliver results at scale – moving beyond ambition to measurable change on the ground. Peter used the example of Downforce’s collaboration with Oxbury Bank, who are financially supporting farmers in the transition to regenerative agriculture, to demonstrate how organisations can come together to achieve scale. The discussion resonated across the room, emphasising that no single actor can achieve regeneration alone, and that corporates, farmers, finance and value chains must align their goals to drive lasting impact.

Throughout the event, participants – including representatives from PepsiCo, Nestlé, McCain, Heineken, Twinings, Soil Capital, Fairtrade International, and more – engaged in frank, solutions focused dialogue. Key themes emerged around funding the regenerative transition, achieving data interoperability across complex value chains, and aligning competing market actors around shared sustainability outcomes.

For Downforce, the event underscored our core mission: to provide the robust, scalable soil data that enables these collaborations to succeed. It was inspiring to connect with peers from across the food system who share our belief that credible, actionable insights are key to delivering both supply chain resilience and climate goals.

We left Bristol energised and optimistic – grateful to the Cool Farm Alliance for hosting such a thoughtful event, and to Belmont Estate for providing the perfect backdrop for collaboration and inspiration.

“This is incredibly exciting and potentially a game changer. If we can combine this technology with what we are discovering with our farmers through our soil health initiative we will be able to tailor our land use plans, monitor our progress, and deliver on our pathway to net zero.”
