Groundswell 2025: Powering the Transition with Data, Farmers, and Finance

Groundswell Agriculture Festival 2025 was a true celebration of regenerative farming – and an important moment for Downforce Technologies to showcase how data can unite corporates, farmers, and financiers on the journey toward a more sustainable future.
Over two packed days at Lannock Farm, our team had the privilege of connecting with farmers, supply chain leaders, and partners who share our mission of building climate resilience from the ground up. One of the standout moments was a live demonstration of the Downforce platform, hosted in collaboration with Oxbury Bank. Our Chief Product Officer Geoff Horrell joined Matt Ryan, Oxbury’s Chief Commercial Officer, and Alex Wanstall, Oxbury’s Natural Capital Specialist, to show how high-resolution soil organic carbon (SOC) insights are helping Oxbury both report on its portfolio and empower farmers with actionable data for their own properties.
Alex shared reflections on the insights he’s gained from his own land – a powerful` reminder of the value of giving farmers the tools they need to track practice changes and monitor soil carbon over time. The conversations that followed reinforced what we’ve seen across the sector: corporates can’t hit their climate or resilience targets without bringing land managers along with them, and data is the bridge that makes this collaboration possible.
Our stand featured a detailed SOC map of Lannock Farm – from 2017 to 2024 at 10m resolution – allowing visitors to quite literally see the soil beneath their feet through the lens of our platform. This sparked meaningful discussions about the scalability of remote monitoring versus traditional soil sampling, and how high-resolution data can help unlock more confident, evidence-based decision-making for farmers and financiers alike.
Groundswell 2025 showed just how far the conversation on regenerative agriculture has come. We left inspired by the progress we’re seeing across the industry – and motivated to keep supporting the farmers, corporates, and partners who are turning ambition into action.
